The Mountain
Here i sit on top of my mountain of fear Looking down at my assumptions All by myself on top of my shattered dreams The ropes of regret dangle below These excuses like steps in the rocks of my rage Did not take long to make this my normal That climb was not hard kept burying the feelings The tears have all gone dry I chose to forget those forged paths I chose to ignore those around I've spent these years climbing this fault Letting a past dictate a future Who knows how i got here When you push it all down you never let it resurface But it does it builds you up to knock you right back down You thought you forget but you know it still hangs over head Your best keep secrets are you worst realism That mountain seems like a figment of your imagination. Your own reality i believed i was safe i believed no one could destroy this but in essence I've become the destruction the chaos i empower. This mountain still stands tall. I haven't climb anything i have not live up to my expectations. I have not reached any top goal. I've glided through unscratched but this is not true. This mountain upon where i sit is the obstacle of my past. The very foundation i've built for myself shaky and unstable.
