Spoken Word Is Poetry's Fiesty Cousin
All My Spoken Word Lovers I think Spoken Word is Poetry's fiesty cousin At first I didn't want to believe it but it was in -- The arch of her lips and the tone of her soul She is the cipher for words that are lively and bold She speaks to all that will listen to the sound of her voice She grabs your attention she wants to be your choice Spoken word often tells Poetry to get up off the page and dance But Poetry tells Spoken Word that she is a simple girl she is not that advanced She'd rather lie down and have people smile at her in pure delight Poetry also tells Spoken Word, "Sometimes in the translation the audience may lose sight, Of the point that you are trying to make", Then Spoken Word said to Poetry, "For goodness sake", That is absolutely absurd, Because I have people hanging on to my every word, And why are you so worried about what people think Don't you know that I am on the brink, Of something powerful and strong, That will have millions of people singing my song." I kind of agree with Spoken Word Though I do love Poetry to death, Poetry is in my soul But Spoken Word is in my every breath.
