It's Over
Even saying 'It's over' He looked beautiful As he gave me back his key I could smell his aftershave As he walked away With the central part of me Acting like strangers Brushing past each other With discomfort and aching Knowing, we, us What we were, meant Was now lost in the lives we were breaking The times he'd held me Through traumatic echoes of life Promising he'd never leave my side Suddenly felt like lost wishes I'd made as a little girl All the while crying inside I wanted to run to him Beg him to forgive me All I'd said, All I'd done But knowing in my heart He can no longer see me Through the sadness I have become Everytime I said I was sorry Everytime I swore Everything I tried to do The black dog beat me down 'You're not good enough for him' Thats why he's leaving you....
