Monsters
“-It was natural for me to become a monster”, he whispered to the woman. She nodded silently as she stroked his thick fur. He remained leaning on her lap, his gaze staring up at the dark sky. “-Maybe I should show you my claws”, he growled in a menacing tone and she just smiled, settling more comfortably on the stone bench by the cliff. Below, the city agonized in its own nightmares. “-You can't imagine how mean I can be”, he unexpectedly called out, trying with a gesture to push her hands away. “-For all I've been through, for all I've done, I don't mind hurting you too”, he growled, this time staring into her dark eyes, who sweetly lowered the gaze, rubbed the left hand over his prominent snout transfigured by hatred, trying to calm him down. The shy moon's glow finally dared among the black clouds. Gradually, she transformed into a terrifying snake, wrapped itself completely around the monster and very slowly crushed it, causing the cracks of the breaking bones to echo throughout the mountain. Then she carried the inert body off the cliff into the lair, dropping it on top of a pile of bones. In the morning, the sun illuminated the slope and the interior of the burrow. Inside, crouching, the woman chewed and muttered something about love, an icy tear running down the scales of her face.
