Road To Redemption
Not so long ago, I thought I was some superhero. Flew high and big with my wings of ego, And my arrogance began to grow. With nobody to stop me or tow, I soared over the brow, With no worry or sorrow. Then, came the big blow. I came crashing down to ground zero, And was punished rightly so. I was in my all time low, For I lost the life of Mellow. All of a sudden, my heart grew heavy, As if it had witnessed a tragedy. My mind was no longer steady, Wandering all over for a remedy. With no one to turn to but my teddy World seemed cold and gone awry. Adding to my long list of misery, Things looked rather too gloomy. Standing on the edge of world, Something struck me so bold, All the time I've been looking everywhere for gold, Didn't realize my Life was infested with pests and mould. The Joys found in little things I put on hold, Nor did I pay heed to anything my elders told, Slowly, became apathetic and cold. Despite, all that I can always change and mold, Become good and wise as I get old, Be prepared and enjoy whatever unfolds. Decided to brace myself, Shake off the worries, And quit with the petty tiffs. Perform penance for all my transgression, Atone for every trespass, So I can stop the guilt from eating me up inside, and journey towards salvation. Whatever might be your sins, You are always within the realms of possibility to earn redemption. For god is kind, loving and merciful.
