Wishful
I saw the dress hanged beautifully whiles I pass I see it in the morning and evening and imagine how nice that would look on me Such a beautiful dress I must admit I look into my purse whiles I pass by the dress Can I afford this?, I doubt and pass I see it again on Tuesday, still beautifully exposed What a world this dress carries I imagine the elegance it would bring me I don’t think I can afford it I pass on Thursday But there is a difference Someone is wearing the dress It hasn’t been hanged It’s been worn I pause my steps and look at the new owner A beautiful smile worn with the beautiful dress ‘That should be mine’; I exclaim But no matter how much I scream, it’s all in my head I watch as the lady walks out with the dress I watch how my wishful dreams are being lived, lived by someone else I watch as my wishful dream passes me by I look on, as my beauty leaves with the wind How wishful!
