John Leroy, Quite a Boy!
John Leroy, Quite a Boy! When I grew up I knew this boy, Who was somewhat different, little John Leroy. Everything was difficult and hard for this child to do, Born with no arms, quite different than me and you. Not once did I see him whimper about the life he was dealt, But I did see him thanking the Lord, while on his knees he knelt. I could not understand what John had to be thankful for, But he just smiled at me as he rose from the floor. He said I know what is on your mind, but it’s not that bad, And besides what good would it do to feel sad or get mad. He said I just have a few more hurdles than most have to cross, So I have to figure out different ways to show them that I am the boss. He said I don’t blame God for the way that I am, or this body I received, It was caused by the medication my mother was on when I was conceived. When I run across something that seems too hard and I can’t figure out, That is when I call up on the Lord to help me over the hurdle and remove all the doubt. Well it’s been quite awhile since I’ve seen or heard from John Leroy, But that young guy taught me how to look past the bad and see only joy. John’s faith in the Lord must have brushed off on me, Cause when problems come around I still see John, thanking the Lord on bended knees.
