Force Myself To Fall Back In Love
He is on my last nerve – singing and dancing to Christmas songs. I envision throwing him into a large snow drift. Then I remember that this is what attracted me to him initially. He finishes all of my sentences, which irritates me to the inth degree. Hold up! My conscious says. Remember those who could not? Many had no idea what I was thinking or feeling. He does. He chews his food loudly; another reason to muzzle him. But then I remember all the times he has helped my family. Helping them move, paint, mow grass. He is my hero. In order to love him the way he deserves to be loved, I force myself to make a list of all of his best qualities I look at them and review them at least once a month. If I did not do this, I could barely tolerate his off-key singing And the way he reads my mind. I look up and he winks at me, all-knowing.
