Running Out of Time
I'm running out of time, on this beautiful green earth. I still feel so young, but it's many years since my birth. Should I spend all my money, buy a fancy house and car? Or travel to other countries, so exotic and afar? But to spend time with my loved ones, doing nothing that exciting, Appeals to my senses, it seems the most inviting. I could travel these days away, in my coming twilight years, But I wouldn't leave for long, or I would be in pain and tears. For as I've gotten older, one thing has come quite clear, Nothing means as much to me, as those I hold so dear. I may travel here and there, for short periods of retreat. But home I will return to, on my tired and weary feet. I've learned a lot, through life's trials and tribulations. The desires of many others, may not meet my expectations. Give me my family, and cherished friends that may be few, For that is where my joy is, this I know now to be true. Yes, I'm running out of time, to do all I likely could, But life happens only once, I will do what just feels good.
