Sky Limits
Someone may say to you, "Your wish is my command". You will then look at such a one and say, "Really! You don't say". The reply to you is, "I do say, and anything you desire is really okay". Well, I've been hoping and waiting, but I have yet to meet such a person. It's like this poetry contest I saw with practically no limits, no rules. The only direction or requirement I noticed was the word "BLUE" and a large globe-like picture colored BLUE, bordered by "SKY BLUE". And I said to myself, "Really? Where do I go with this?" And I replied to myself, "I can take this piece of BLUE Poetry anywhere I want to go". As I set sail on the proverbial deep BLUE sea with this piece, I ended up in my home town, a small BLUE city. This town has been coined, The Home Of The Blues. Some great world renown performers came from there. Growing up, I never knew, but it appears that 'Blues Music' was created and sprang forth in that region of America. I am not the least surprised that the Blues was given birth in that little area of the country, because there was so much pain and sorrow, a lot to be BLUE about. I know that the sky is the limit, but I wish to dwell less on The Blues and more on THE BLUE. By the way, I cannot recall ever thinking about it before, but this piece has raised the question, "Does God have a favorite color?" Some may say 'white', thinking of purity; others may consider 'gold', thinking of value. I have no Biblical grounds to stand on about it, but I'm thinking that God's favorite color could be BLUE because of that great and vast BLUE canopy above us called 'the sky'. I must say that I'm loving this piece and this contest, because it's raising questions I never had before. More about BLUE. On a clear day, I can look up and see a sky filled with BLUE. On a clear day, I can see scattering white clouds of multiple formations sandwiched in a sky of BLUE. On a clear day, I tell you, there is enough BLUE BEAUTY to take your breath away. On an unclear day, perhaps when BLUE wishes to take a break or beauty nap, the earth-tones of brown and green are enough to spark a flame in the BLUEST of hearts. That's when we begin to realize how the BLUE SKY above and the earth below live in such great harmony. We are told that BLUE is not the natural color of the sky, but rather a reflection of the many oceans and seas around the world. I hope I got that right. Anyway, the point is unity. Sometimes when life has thrown us a basket of lemons, there are many recipes for lemonade. One of them is to look to the sky. Look to the wide open space of BLUE. The old California gold miners used to say, "There's gold in them there hills". When life gets us down and starts pressing us to the ground, may we ever look to God, and observing His vast domain, think about those gold miners and say, "There's lemonade in them there BLUE skies" 102921PSCtest, BLUE, Mystic Rose Rose. 5P *Dictionary: Blues, melancholy. Blues Music in a style marked by recurrent minor intervals and melancholy lyrics. BLUE, a color between green and violet in the spectrum. It's the color of the clear daytime sky.
