Collateral Damage
Father of a broken child, he was lost to a false trial. Its hard to see through iron bars, so he'd rather admire her from the stars. She's tied to her memories with a titanium chain. His actions were so everlasting, and abhorrently in-humane. She was left so alone, Her memories she sealed tight and hid in stone. He was uncomfortable and sour to saving, for his path his accuser was already paving. He knew his fate, and held no hope. With that, he could no longer cope. He said he would die before he would have to picture his children on the backs of his eyelids, day in, and day out. Before he would sit behind the unforgiving eye of the law that was so unjust. She didn't need this, and neither did they, But he just couldn’t bear to stay. He wouldn't suffer one more time, so he left, on a dime. Click goes the camera, down slide the tears, screams in agony as she faced her worst fears. All alone she’d have to fight Her happy family disappeared from sight. Whats the definition of brave? Proving strength you don't contain, putting on a show? Or just plastering on that smile, and letting go? This killed her. But she wouldn’t let them know what she felt inside. The pain that was so gripping, and sharp, she felt it was necessary to hide. Over and over again whispering ‘He’s the one who did this, and its not your fault’ She couldn’t have stopped him, a child trying to sway an adult. She didn’t believe her own words. Their last day would replay in her head Having to remind herself, he was Gone Lost Dead. Relentless she might become, To the voices she may succumb, But from this pain, she would numb.
