Lost Love
Should I declare my love for her 40 years hence, should it remain an eternal suspense ? does love die and wither with passing time? does heart’s melody keep its youthful rhyme? she is mother, wife to another man!! doesn’t love in life’s journey ever wane? In lonely moments does she think of me? think If had married me, how would it be? would our roads have more joyous petals strewn? and left behind thorns that our lives have grown? sometimes in my blank stare I see her face, so desire her such , could give an embrace, but in solitude love has a strange way, that lost hour, when it should have had its say, If I had opened heart- said I loved her, would she have then married another? yet love blooms on! freshened by memory- of past days, wishful thoughts of our story, yet time and wisdom have taught me to smile, accept love, separated by thousand miles, sometimes you love, end up not being wed, sometimes you are wed but yet love is dead, can one prevail over life? argue for rights? drive away darkness, rearrange the lights? as we shuffle along our ordained fate, know that since long, the past has shut its gate, learn to live with thought of what could have been, and dream of love that should have been! written 28/10/201 10 syllables each line 28 lines
