Yesterdays Child
Yesterdays Child Born on a Tuesday, or maybe it was a Wednesday... it really does not matter anymore. The sun is white-hot, and the dew is missing on the flowers. Why are things not as they should be? Growing up among the rocks, treated like royalty, both well dressed, and hungry all the time. Ultimately, lost among the stuffed animals... Yet... or even so... walking upright with perseverance, among the toys that broke, before they were taken, out of the box... for the first time. First kiss, first date, why do the clouds grow dark, and why are there so many people at the table? I don't know. I have lost count of the guests, and yet there is a single car out front, a man waiting to go to, or take someone back to... or from the ball. Smart as a whip, too hip to skip, all things that come your way... Maybe they will hurt you, maybe they will not. Life is full of lessons, to teach... the fox is not in a box, the eggs are nearly never green, and there is no ham to cook... for dinner. A. Foster, Ann Foster, Annette Foster
