All Within My Hands - Mystic
With a hand upon my heart, I once asked for you to start, Caring for me, long ago Love began to shape and show Our relationship flourished. My soul was healed and nourished. I helped you to see and know, What you need, what you should know. It was good while it lasted, But our ideals contrasted. I knew from the start you’d go, And leave my soul in the snow And again we are apart You ripped your hand from my heart Tearing sinew; Heartbeats slow Soul diminishes its glow The ice starts to set and freeze Frostbitten I start to wheeze The birds settle down, the crows On my body in the snow I hold my shattered dead heart And slowly carefully start Piecing the shards where they go Back together, in the snow I try not to let the birds Pick at my corpse, nor the worms Dig into me from below Below dirt, beneath the snow I hold my heart once again Back together to defend Me from the demons aglow; Birds or worms? I do not know Kindled softly, now aflame My soul burns away the pain The best it can with its glow Fear emanates from the crows Thawed now I stand up so tall Even after death’s dark call I brush the ice off my coat Healing with each breath I blow Though broken my heart may be My soul holds in the blood it bleeds This will I have, paths it shows Out from darkness. This I know.
