Ruin
Laughter and ruin tells the story,                                     of our first family dinner.   Married just six short months,                                          my parents are coming for a visit.                                    I loved cooking,                                                              what should I make?                                                      Everyone loves steak,                                                    steak is what I will make.                                                A salad~mashed potatoes~rolls and a veggie,                  I will make.                                                                    I cooked and cleaned all day,                            waiting for my parents to arrive.                                      I was tired and exhausted,                                              then the doorbell rang.                                                    There stood my parents,                                                the six months melted away.                                          Hugs and kisses were flying,                            come on in and sit down.                                                Off to the kitchen to serve up the food,                            hot off the stove and oven.                             We sat down to eat,                                                        steak can't be cut.                                                          Dad said~I thought we were having steak,                      this is shoe leather.                                                        Before a tear was shed,                                                  my new husband said~it is OK.                                        How could I ruin the steaks,                                            everyone said~it was the meat.                        We went laughing all the way to the restaurant,                that night we learned what shoe leather tastes like.          Yuk.......
