The American Soldier
The fighting men of America, their country makes it plain: No room for the foolish and weak, only the strong and sane. Strength forged in the heat of battle; endured, though weathered and sore. Men with a stomach for combat, brave with grit to the core Tough as a tiger in victory, fearless as a bear in defeat; Born of a bulldog daddy, a mother wise and discrete. Though many stand in number, America takes the fearless ones. Holds them to the highest esteem, proud to call them sons. With the world she shares her treasures, from her table they eat her sweets, yet, as enemy, they’re doomed to failure, she tramples them under her feet. She favors men with mettle, for they establish her fame. Victory in army issue brings her honor, not shame. They brave the desert of death, fighting each step as they go. Crossing rivers and rapids, scaling mountains with snow. Loftly, they stand for their country, fearless, passionate and wise. With the weight of duty on their shoulders, American pride in their eyes.
