Something Old, Something New
" THE TALE Of A YELLlOW PONCHO" - Something OLD (posted in 2020) Isn't it strange that many years ago, A dainty lass wearing a yellow poncho, twirled around in her garden like a golden butterfly... A young boy watched her frolic, and didn't forget the rest of his life! Years and years passed by! The garden lost its lustre! ravishing marigolds and seductive chrysanthemums flowered, radiant roses and hazel jinias blossomed, but the swing was vacant, no one heard the laughter, the chatter, the birds chirped there no longer! the yellow poncho was worn out, and withered away, something to get rid of, didn't look gorgeous any more to her, and finally that's what happened! faded poncho got replaced by a stylish attire! The memory did not pale away for someone else, who thought it was an enchanting angel he found in his dream, The angel didn't have wings to fly, but had a yellow cloak agleam! TEARDROPS (NEW POEM) The angel, engrossed in her hustling life, barely remembered the garden unsurpassed, flowers and butterflies, swing and laughter, the yellow Poncho - only a nostalgic past! middle of the night, she woke up some day, if she had a mysterious dream - she wondered! a quaint abode, cradled in an unruffled hamlet, serene with mehndi bushes bordered. pleasing breeze rustling through delicate window-coverings, made of Khus - a fragrant grass, brought a gentle aroma which she carried fluttering through life of hers! translucent teardrops fell…tiny luminous pearls... poignant memory of being apart, of a precious love, soft and tender ~ enveloped the damsel's forlorn heart.
