The Funeral
Today you brought me flowers And you sang my favorite song Today you said you love me And you wish I had not gone. You said I was a good girl You called me your best friend You said you didn’t understand Why my life came to an end. If you only knew how I felt You'd have checked on me, you said If you’d only paid attention I wouldn’t have been dead. You said I was always smiling And could light up any room You didn’t know my laughter Was just hiding my gloom. I’m sorry that I hurt you But I couldn’t bear to stay And that is why I took my life On that dark fateful day. Don’t blame yourself anymore There’s nothing you could have done My mind was fighting a battle Which just couldn’t be won. I tried my best to mask it And never let it show But I couldn’t hold much longer I  just had to let go. I’m in a better place now And free from all my pain So hold on to my memory Until we meet again
