My Stint In San Quentin
MY STINT IN SAN QUENTIN (The Story of Lily) I had no idea why I ended up in San Quentin prison After all I am a woman; if only I just had that shave With over 3,500 male inmates; it was not my vision Seeing the hard nuts I was not about to misbehave Luck had it; I landed in cell 102 with transgender lily Her bra’s and draws as hung up on her washing line Lily who had all her bits done so did not have a willy As, like her best underwear by designer, Calvin Klein Lily was serving 32 years for second degree murder I’ve got seven months for nicking just a few flowers Will I have long enough to listen to what turned her And more so how did she cope in the male showers Amazingly Lily, she had been up there with the best Was smitten by a young man down in West Arizona Gossip was rife; the young man was put to the test As he was shocked, on finding out her true persona The marriage as off; the young man didn’t want her Passions arising where Lily stabbed him in the heart Lily is now doing long term, 32 years for his murder Her as love now in her mind plays an imaginary part Mind, Lily was a dab hand as when hot waxing faces As hands worked carefully; as not to cause any pain Removing coarse hairs that as on my chin disgraces Wanted to beautician, her desire was set on to train I couldn't thank Lily enough, as for passing my time I learnt a lot about humanity; compassion; and kind As for nicking a bunch of flowers was rather sublime 7 months of life learning while in here being confined I promised Lily I wouldn't forget her; as I left prison So every week I set about making her heartfelt calls After all Lily, had left me, with a lot of truthful vision As every week I visited her within those prison walls Saved my hard earned money; on laser hair removal With doing so looked more like a woman than a man When on my visits to see Lily, met with her approval So intentions to visit Lily more often is now the plan Took Lily’s advice I went out and earned good bucks I hired one good lawyer, then got Lily’s sentence cut Soon be parole time; Lily said; Thank you, me ducks So once again outside Lily in her high heels can strut Indiana Shaw . . . ; ) "This is a follow on poem from "Wants V's Needs" . . . : / Image courtesy of Claudio Scott via Pixabay
