The royal garment makers here at court have need to take greater care in the practice of their craft. All too many of my subjects have brought me little but disappointment. Last night I’d ordered the wind to refrain from seeking further audience in my palace, but my lips became chapped anyway. I’ve banished autumn for the season, yet in insolent defiance it continues to insist on exercising its own will despite my obviously wiser judgment. My mercy may be legendary, but there are limits to my patience. My spies have been creeping around. They will bring me word of further treasons. Of that I have no doubt. It will all be dealt with accordingly as the law requires. Though this burden I must bear, my heart remains resolute and my compassion offers justice as it is written. In the midst of all my upsets I take comfort in the prospect of a pleasant intermission. Refreshments are provided in the lobby and all are invited to partake of crawfish etouffee, jambalaya, andouille, and creamy pralines. Eat up! The Intermission Fool shall entertain us all.
