It's instantaneous The moment your feet touch the white way That faint rumble Distant drone You're drawn instantly! A child again Always a child The music - A discordant eerie heavy dance What with rattles and shrieks at side - Is always away Close to the fence Lest you wander straight Straight in the direction Mesmerized Oh how inconsequential IT tries to be! Organ thick Hid behind a mirrored wall Where paint-sploch horses rise and fall That might haunt Charles Ives A thing - you can call it else - so separate Existence all alone so dominant You wonder how the park survives Watching Watching it round Each horse each each rider clown Memorized The rocking thing goes on it seems FOREVER! Till the molten chords so saturate Your body mind very soul in dream state Then Blessedly Old brakes grind rasp As though in dying breath Its passengers alight And you think....... "Here am I so far advanced so wise But maybe just one ride" Then you realize your son has your hand Pulling you aside
