Wants V's Needs
WANTS V’S NEEDS I wanted the handbag, one for me and one for Darlene At 5.3 million apiece, I only had £50, imagine the scene I would not say I am weak, when it comes to saving up Worsen by bills that needed to be paid had to interrupt I put in some extra paper rounds as washed a few cars And; stuck all my hard earned bucks into big glass jars As needed those handbags, or my name would be mud By the end of a few weeks things were looking so good After a few months, the glass jars were filled with stash But, still was no anywhere near, the £5.3 million in cash Then one day a dodgy looking guy passed by, says hey I’ve got a bottle of the finest pink gin; what do you say So, after a quick think, I thought that would have to do Darlene; likes the handbag, but, not enough buckaroos So I crated up the pink gin as a real nice cheese hamper With some flowers; as it does no harm at all, to pamper Trouble is no dosh left for the flowers, so I pinched "em Some nice orange, red and yellow, on thick green stems Got caught by the local police, where now I'm doing time And; luck would have it, I was also running out of rhyme Now I’m doing time in San Quentin, and prison walk calls I had to pass “em to Darlene, via the barred prison walls Hope may be eternal and where doing time is even worst But, you will be glad to know this is the end to the verse Indiana Shaw . . . : / Image courtesy of Klimkin via Pixabay Image courtesy of Sue Telford via Pixabay
