The One Who Touched My Heart
The one I loved, who in return loved me - not ever questioning a thing I did - is gone! But for ten years his face I’d see each day so happy like a little kid. He always stayed near me. I can’t recall a night that he was not there by my side. No cruelty lived in his soul at all. The day we let him go, I cried and cried. Sometimes things happen. I was forced to part with Ollyver, who always loved me so. The day I gave him up I lost my heart (at least a part of it). That much I know. Two years went by since Ollyver got placed in someone else’s home. I knew not where he ended up, but one night I embraced my dog again! I woke and he was there! I woke up from a dream one night to feel the presence of my dog. It felt so sweet. I touched and smelled his fur. Oh, it was REAL! To sleep I then returned and to a street. My dog was roaming it along with me. Had his dear soul returned so he might get a last farewell? I do believe it’s true. We had a bond too precious to forget!
