Here Are Two Unhappy Lovers
If we kept feelings to ourselves and avoided eyes not inventing lies, none of this should have happened and this secret would remain untold. Here are two unhappy lovers clinging to false hope, nothing we do, we'll change their rage so deep; we have been caught in broad daylight; do we feel remorse, anger, or even guilt... do we go on pretending we'll be climbing a slope, not realizing we'll roll down if we don't grope... the ascension is smooth, the descent is steep! We wanted to lead two separate lives, seeing each other occasionally in strange places, but losing our freedom is a hard blow; we got to be very cautious and not show we know one another, not getting caught by husband or wife: we must forget we ever met in life! Here are two unhappy lovers clinging to false hope, faithfulness makes us slide down the strongest rope; we try to hold on sliding down rough slopes: this happens only to cheaters that have run out of lies! None of this should have happened, if we had been really careful and secretive, not leaving messages with different names, not making those ridiculous excuses to get away; if we only had used common sense, we wouldn't be scolded by pretense! Did blind passion lead us to believe in foolish play? Could this affair have been stopped? Finally, the truth has come to light... we are as shocked as they are planning revenge, while we are feeling sadness and giving into fear so disappointed for our failed plot; we let urges run wild betraying their trust... are we ready to admit how horrible is the cost?
