Why Don'T I Get a Say
When you are a kid, you learn to ride bikes, socialize, do the dishes, fold your laundry. When you are a young teen, you learn the world is cruel, and you learn how to be a caring light in this place. What if…? We’re not supposed to ask what if questions as we travel through this cruel world. Because we’re supposed to take the world as we’re given it. What if I wa-? NO!! You’re not allowed to ask what if questions in this cruel, cruel world! So what can I ask? What can I say? Our country says we have freedom of speech, But do we? Or is it freedom to those who follow the rules, standards, pass the tests, go to your schools, follow all your rules word by word. Those are who gets your paid, taxed, lifeless freedom? Why does the oppressor get to choose what the oppressed say? Why does he, the old white man in a suit, get to choose? Who said he gets to choose? Why don't I get a say?
