I Used To Be
I used to be a free thinker Before I became a stinker I used to have a vivid imagination Before I lost my foundation I used to have big dreams Before reality burst at the seams I used to have hope Before it became difficult to cope I used to be a lot of things And I'll be honest it stings At some point I lost that optimism And age became a schism As I slowly aged and became jaded And my aspirations faded Could be became could have been Slowly lost to booze and sin But you know what I am now?
