They grew up nurtured in the cradle of love and care, learned how to build and face life in their chosen way, as a parent the process with them I could affably share, the ephemeral delight lasted until they all flew away. The cherished bond turned into frail strands of memory, entwined with the feathers they left, I fondle with sigh. The residual time I spend weaving a mental tapestry, to see their fading faces in its motif all the time I try. A lone traveler at the edge of twilight I sorely sigh, as I walk the last mile toward obscurity to disappear.
