We Could Become the Dawn
We somehow mature; Our growing, but a symptom of our cure. We wash the dreariness from winters sky. Replace it with a canvas to acquaint the eye. Left with minds to dabble in the memory paint of dreams Although it seems at times too long, Nighttimes kiss still brings to us a song To wash a tender heart; Mark a new beginning here, another start. Were we free to touch the vista splendor loves so much; Would we then soar with angel wings, rejoice in songs A lover sings, conquer life to rise above our trials, View all from overhead through children’s smiles, Disappear and reappear in every starlights blink, Nod to sun, and everyone, with knowing wisdom’s wink. We could be the light at night that every child wishes on Between the daylight and the dark we could become the dawn.
