The Way
Wondering, pondering, contemplating The moments when I’ve felt different Because of my ideas, my dreams, my feelings The way I think and the way I believe Struggling to be who I am inside my heart Instead of someone who is merely playing a part Thinking of all the ways I might, myself, be Negative, skeptical or cynical in some way I look toward the stars in another’s eyes And see that their stardust is brilliant and alive Singing songs of freedom and dancing in laughing hues Of lavender and azure, blushing pinks and tangerines Thinking of the many times I’ve felt differently Than someone who is kind and caring and gives unconditionally From a heart that is filled with inspiration and insight Still they believe so contrarily… unlike what I believe And I don’t know how to show them that I can’t accept Faith that doesn’t rise from the mists of heaven’s breath Thinking of the joy, the beauty and inspiring words The million moments of vibrant hopes and rich dreams Detailing all the ways we change yet still stay the same The intriguing thoughts that can’t resist revealing the truth Of a heart who knows that love can cross any line there is Give from the voice of reason – any flavor of sensitivity Thinking of the love that lives within the soul who is Filled with a breath of kindness that comes from the soul Who listens to the gentle whispers of a heavenly wisdom Aching to pierce through all the fear and lay aside the pain Open up the heart to believe that real love is the only way To give back to a sad, cruel world… a piece of love’s joy Today, these feelings keep me filled with grace to shine like the sun Lighting the way for anyone to find a way to say… love is alive And love abides inside the one who knows that God’s Son answers When we pray with the faith that He is our salvation, our truth The way to heaven and the life that God blesses with a eternity spent Sharing the love that only God can truly spark in the spirit Love like this is heaven sent and heaven holds His throne! Praise Him forevermore! The God of Love is always there Preparing hearts and answering prayers sent from lips of faith Always be assured that His way is the way of sweet grace I’m different but I still always know… true wisdom is found In loving the One who died for my soul – Jesus is my only hope! I’m different because I believe… true love came down from a cross At calvary – where He bled and died after being tried For opening hearts, souls and minds to the knowledge That He is the Messiah and He lives to give us the opportunity To turn from our sins and believe.. He is the way, the truth, the life The One who lingers on the spirit as our hope and our guide This man who died for me… taught me that love abides in Him Jaundiced Eye Poetry Contest Sponsored by Unseeking Seeker Written on June 14, 2021
