Memorial Day 2021- Apology
Memorial Day 2021 – Apology By Franklin Price 05/31/2021 World War Two's the last war that we really fought to win If we had to do it over, we would do it all again We saved the globe from evil and we overcame the fall We were the saviors of the world, were heroes one and all We emerged a Super Power and it went right to our head, To the government in Washington, who has brought us most our dread They've become the rulers of us, and the world they want to see They are working to demolish, the land created for the free I am a living veteran who has come to realize That, to those who gave their all, we should now apologize Should be sorry where this country is; that's right, the U.S.A That they gave their lives, their everything, to get us where we are today. The ones who really got us here are the ones in Washington They put us into wars not right, for politics and fun They didn't let the Generals, command what should be done They told them how to fight the fight, that never could be won There is no government, for the people, from the left or from the right There are few attempts to cross the aisle, and no relief in sight We the people need to step up, help to start again, anew Replace the ones who now control us, who think they are the chosen few Otherwise, the ones who died, who gave their everything, Will have died to give them power, and for us to kiss their ring To honor those who died for us, we need to start again And make the war, within the U.S.A., be a war the people win. Be involved and, when the time comes, vote to honor those who died to allow you to cast that vote.
