What Was I Thinking
Indeed, as a young man, I had come West, about 5 blocks from the Pacific. After 8 years, the economy demanded otherwise, and we moved North of the Bay. After 8 years, the affordability factor weighed in, and we moved East of the Sea. To the Central Valley we went. affordable housing, tomato land, and rice fields. Furthermore, not far from our destination, we spotted a field of sunflowers. A lover of nuts and sunflower seeds, I stared at the blossom giants as we drove by. How interesting to me that I feasted of her little seeds long before I ever saw her. Sunflowers prefer heat over fog, and moving day was the hottest in memory. We would adjust, but to make matters worse, our car had no air conditioning. The melons were ripe and red, and the corn was sweet and tasty; but it was hot! You should have seen us(or not), as I, my wife, and 3 kids tugged along in a sub-compact. Musing over our little car, the 4 words pounding inside of me were, "What was I thinking?" 052121PS
