Stormy Seas
First one wave and then another Tossed the boat from one side then the other The storm gripped the tiny craft and the wind pushed the sail fore and aft. While in the stern the Lord lay on a cushion asleep, tired by the days preaching mission. Suddenly waves filled the boat, the Disciples were in despair. So the Chosen ones woke the Master with "don't you care...!" Jesus woke up rebuked the wind and said to the sea "Quiet! Be still!" the air, the water, quiet they were to be Then He asked about their faith these frighten few. but they did not understand this Jesus who commanded the wind and sea ; They were filled with awe that air and water would obey His spoken law. So when life tosses you up and down. Like the boat your pushed one way, then another way around. When you are deluged by worry and sin. When everything seems to be caving in. Please call on Jesus to bail you out. But don't do it with a frantic faithless shout. A quiet, prayerful plea, as "Jesus help me" is best heeded. For Jesus might be taking a rest much needed. He will still hear you and answer your pleas but won't ask "Were is your faith?" on life's stormy seas.
