No More Forlorn Hope
Death led me to forlorn hope’s drain along separation terrain toward destitute-anguish plane bereft of home anchor and brain… Once overwhelmed with grievous pain* my afflicted heart did complain questioning God I knew was vain as my Dad struggled for breath’s gain… Yet His grace over me did reign cheering my faith against gloom’s stain with Dad’s last smile, sans struggle-chain lingering, till we’ll meet again… Thus, forlorn hope could not remain against triumphant bliss domain since Christ’s promises never wane offering peace from hurricane. *Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. April 29, 2021 3rd place " This or That, Vol 2" Poetry Contest Sponsored by Edward Ibeh; judged on 5/13/2021. Title Chosen: Forlorn Hope
