Bonds Binds Crossed Wires Threads
What may suit them Be right up there street Or floats one's boat Bearing in mind poetry is more a form of art than an exact science This may in fact explain or be the reason Why the majority of the time i get hardly and reads and no comments On the poem's i liked and thought may have recieved or deserved some And am then surprised by the one's That are well recieved in terms of comments and reads Maybe it's simply because To some i come from the wrong side of the track's or street Never got to captain that ship and make other's sea sick And my chosen suit is hearts not clubs and i am excluded membership from Or suit is cut from a different cloth and is irregular not regular the one size that doesn't fit all But hey if nothing else the one common thread that bond's us all together and we can surely agree on is this Who doesn't love to be paid a compliment and then have to feign being bashful Or is it only just me Who suffers from an ego that needs periodically massaging And feel the inherent need to equate and place my value And worth in the way i am viewed by other's Rather than the same way and light i view them Then may i respectfully suggest The problem lies with i not them And why acceptance does not abide to i As Captain of a sinking ship and from the wrong side of tracks and street will always be my fixed abode and suit everyone else but me Until one day i go all in with a running flush suit of heart's firmly entrenched in my hand have i and can afford to buy a bespoken suit tailor made just for Without that sinking in the pit of my stomach making me nauseated On such day as dawn arises and i awaken without that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach nauseous like feeling sea sick Who would rather view life through the lens of a torturous artist dedicated to poetic form and verse Rather than have to cut off my own ear in orded to be heard So i could no longer listen to and stop what my heart and inner voice was telling me to write instead Certainly not an exact science More a form of art not to be taken literally but subjectively And why some people may get it and appreciate it while other's don't And that is solely up to the audience to judge and for the creater to take on board If they do not take offense and are willing and humble enough to listen and take on board constructive criticism And to do a complete rewite until it doesn't resemble the original draft in any way at all
