An Impossible Dream
I used to see an abomination, but now that I have turned into a man it seems impossible to me, how this has come to be. How can the two worlds I lived in, turn into a single one? I feel like I have left my old home, aspirations to make it to the city have come true. I am still not well adjusted but it is better than what I had. the thought of going back feels very real, I almost cherish the fear of it because I still cannot fathom, how I made it here? What seemed like an impossible wish, a plea as one stared into the abyss. The decision to relinquishing all possessions for the attainment of salvation, an ascetic journey at the mercy of fate, is now a journey that never began. This jaded heart now flaps a wing. In these good times, hope tastes bitter and despair brings a certain comfort, like an itch that is scratched till it bleeds. These heavy shoes are a gift, I cannot walk back in these, I cannot walk far these. what more can a man wish once he has met the abyss? Peace fills this heart but the wounds still burn, innocense is an effort and I speak with a wry tongue. Alas but dignity rises again like a phoenix born from the ashes of its former self. It says to not take two steps forward but to leap for the moon. the long-desired peace has now ceased to exist, ambers of ambition and the zest for life are feeding at this awe. I remember seeing a smirk in the mirror, a challenge to myself, a nod to myself. An impossible wish has become an impossible dream and a dreamer now dares to dream.
