In the Breath of Heaven
"You will forget me, the love we once shared has vanished in the attempt to disguise the dreams we once knew can't be repaired it's gone with the light that once lit your eyes" Your heart will grow stronger after some time With dreams put to rest and hopes so sublime Left to their doubting, their suspicious nature Creating a hesitation that will lead them to demise Your thoughts will begin to forget about my love As the stars in the sky conspire to light you up With feelings of inspiration and creative ideas Sent to dissuade you from your thoughts of me Your memories may linger on the back of your mind Coloring your reminiscences with joy, full of life In hues of passion, prayers that cry out to heaven Please let this ache find a way to be healed Your love will always be there with me, a light Guiding me through the blackest, deepest night Filling me with assurance that I have the courage To reach beyond this moment, into the future Where I know, without any question, I will find relief from this lack of affection In the joy and peace that comes from a silent Compassion found in the spirit of God’s breath of grace Choose Your Form Poetry Contest Sponsored by Joseph May April 25, 2021
