Say Their Names
Waking up I watch the news I see another black man, woman and child taken away from this world at the hands of the people who were sworn in to protect and serve. Where is the protection when they have hate in their eyes and blood on their hands. Where do they serve when they feel they have the power and authority to do whatever they please with no consequences. Where is the justice for those whose innocent blood is shed at the hands of the law. They claim racism is dead but that is far from the truth Jim Crow's descendants are lurking on the streets waiting to eat the blood of my people. How can I sit here and watch as my people are taken away one by one at the hands of those who are supposed to be men and women of honor who took oaths to protect and serve. How can I see here and be silent about something that I know that is not right regardless of who it is. How dare those who think that it's okay for these lives to be taken away so cold, so viciously. Take a look at yourself and what you stand for take a look in the mirror that could be you, your brother, sister, mother, father, uncles, daughters and sons. If were one of them you would look at things different we're not saying just black lives matter but all lives matter every life that breathes on this earth matters. Until justice is served I am going to say their names from the mountains of washington state all the way to the shores of maine. I am going to say their names so loud and bold that Jim Crow and his ancestors will wake up out of their graves and be shaken with fear. I will say their names and I hope you do the same. Because the police brutality against my people is a sin and a shame
