The Times They'Re A-Changin'
Been hangin' around for sixty-some years. Thought I'd seen it all but not so I fears. In the fifties and sixties our parents were shocked, At our clothes and our hair and our music that rocked. In the thirties and forties 'twas different with them. They had Boogie-Woogie but rockin' was sin. The twenties was better, innocent and carefree. The Charleston and Fox Trot were just the Bees Knees. So you see what I'm sayin', where I'm comin' from, The times keep on changin' as kids search for fun. Nothing is good if your parents agree. They have to be shocked, aghast when they see, Your clothes and your hair and your music they hate, If this is the case then everything's great; And if you think that's bad my friend just you wait, 'Cause here come the grandkids, what will be their fate. Now it's drugs and booze and they're starting so young. The next thing you know the kid's packin' a gun. Way back long ago in the Garden of Eden, The first act of rebellion was an apple was eaten. That started it all and the ball rolled downhill. Jealousy came along and Cain's brother was killed. So you see what I mean, it's cause and effect, One act gets another, like fuel inject. With kids it has always be one-up-man-ship. They'll out do their parents 'cause they want to be hip.
