My Mother-In-Law
Since I once wrote a poem about my mother. It is only fitting to write this one, regarding another. This person I am speaking of, was my "Mother-in-law". One who was respected, cherished and loved by all. As we were all told, she had the humblest beginnings. But through it all, she kept singing and never complaining. She was a person that showed and gave "Unconditional Love". That's because she was given that gift from God above. She was always there to lend a hand. And to her grandchildren, she was their biggest fan. I was blest to have been a part of her sixty-eight years. However, I still miss her and can't stop shedding my tears. Fortunately I was able to say my goodbye's, and it was in that meaning for which I did hate. But I whispered to her, "mom, when it's my turn to go, I want you there on the other side of that gate". She was not only my "Mother-in-law". She was a dear friend. And she was much-much more, even to the end. After some time, I'll be able to wipe away my tears. But her memories and her love will always be near. Now it's time for me to let her go, and give her back to God, whose love she did know. Goodbye my "Mother-in-law", goodbye "Mom Starks" until I see you again, you will always be in my heart.
