I Am the Green
Between the rows and rows of tombs of your beloved gone I cover all the bones that lay beneath me_ I am the green that grows. Soft and velvet in sun and rain and when ice falls down, down I rest peaceful under the pristine winter snow for no footsteps break my smoothness when fierce wild winds blow_ Come sad mourners in spring to weep and bring roses red rest on my velvety smoothness and pray do you hear the quiet whispers of the beloved bones beneath_ Can you hear them moan ? ___________________________ March 19, 2021 (Edit 2018 Poem) Poetry/Verse/Personification/I Am the Green Copyright Protected, ID 03-1337-393-19 All Rights Reserved, 2021, Constance La France Submitted into the Standard contest, All Your (Mar 20) sponsor, Brian, Judged 03/20/2021
