Spring In the Barn
white owl flies low over snow to her hide, from there she watches the snow melt each day, holed in an old tree near barn by road side, snow drops peering up, spring is on its way! the winter has been tough lonely and cold, hard to hunt pests hid under frozen ground, “wings don't stretch easily may be too old”! now advent of spring bring cheer of bird sound! she prunes feathers like would bride for her love, gleaming white with golden grey for a crown, morning lights up! it is spring, it is now! ready for season in white wedding gown! daffodils waft hello as she glides past, their bright yellow waves that border the lake, the joys of fresh spring and long may it last, a fat rat would make a good wedding cake! in the hole she waits for night without moon, eyes that see in the dark are such a boon!
