My Dream
I dreamt I was running through a beautiful field of flowers, with laughing children all around me. Effortlessly gliding along, smoothly as the breeze. I felt as though I had become the breeze and I was caressing the wild flowers as I moved amongst them. I looked to the faces of the children and saw that they were not children, but fairies and as I gazed downward I saw that my feet were no longer touching the earth. We were gliding along together, the fairies and I, floating gently higher and I realized that the fairies were really angels. I saw that the angels were leaving behind a trail of golden dust. When I looked to my feet they had disappeared and i was being carried along by the angels and I could see too that my legs were also dissolving into the golden dust trailing behind. And even though I felt myself dissolving I was not concerned. For when I looked again closely I knew with certainty that we were all traveling together, dissolving together, and would remain together forever. I knew that I was part of them and they were part of me and that we were part of all the existence that I had ever known. That it was all of us, life, and as it was finishing it was all dissolving into a lovely golden dust that was becoming brighter and brighter until I could barely distinguish our outlines. And I realized that there were no outlines. There had never been outlines. I had only imagined that there was a separation, a boundary I had created in my mind to give myself a particular identity. But we had no identity, we had no separation, we were all there was, we are all there is, and we are infinite. We are all things: matter, energy, space, time. We are the creator and the created. And as the light grew ever brighter and all things dissolved into the brightness I felt myself becoming the light and I knew that I was home. And as I joined the light forever I sensed my last thought drifting from me, and I blessed it as I left it all behind, released it with my human souls’ final parting prayer: ”Let there be light"
