They Don'T Feel It Like We Do
The animals are a gift from God, As a servant to Mankind. From them we get some food and clothes, In them companions find. They bow down to our sovereignity, Accept our scraps as gifts. The slightest bit of gentleness, Their lonely hearts will lift. A dog will give his all, his life, Without a moments thought. In our defense they brave the worst, Our safety oft blood bought. They show us time and time again, What true love really is. Through sacrifice and patient love, How love accepts and gives. We take from them all they can give. We use, abuse, neglect. They're just anmals we say, We can't let them affect, The very way we live our lives, They're fine up to a point; But they're just animals, that's all, It's us God did appoint, As rulers over all the earth. We have the power of reason. The animals live for our use, To lift them's almost treason. They have flesh and they have blood, But they're not the same as us. They live to eat and sleep and breed. We use them as we must. They don't feel the same as us. Their pain threshold's much deeper. They fear, they love, they bleed, they die, In service to their keepers.
