I can do the baseball game…if you can do the football…but if you can’t he’ll have to hitch a ride with Jill and Rod. And if he does, be sure to give him six or seven bucks…he’ll have to eat at Burger King - or Wendy’s…oh, my God…. ?I forgot, tonight is Uncle Phillip’s birthday party! S’posed to be a big surprise. ?We really need to go. Better late than not at all. No time to buy a gift…but I don’t think he’ll really care…or prob’ly even know! Carson needs a bigger pair of spikes…his feet are huge! Hope they never grow to be as long and wide as Mike’s. And - while they furnish free replacements - Landon’s tattered jersey wound up in my sewing pile ‘cause -- that’s the one he likes! Whenever Landon loses his - he’ll use a teammate’s glove…but if there are only ten boys there, the coach makes Landon sit. Looks as though I’m gonna have to make a run to Walmart and buy that absent-minded little turd another mitt! Thank the Lord for hand-me-downs and garage sales now and then. I swear these two are gonna keep us broke for several years! But every time I think about the times we’ve watched them play, and cheered with pride for what they do…or laughed ourselves to tears… Watching as they tried their very best to get it right, giving close to everything they’ve got to play their part, Mass confusion…unexpected costs…and hectic schedules somehow never seem to find a home within my heart. Because they fill our lives with so much joy and so much love, despite the flaws, we soon forget the things that drive us nuts. Just the same…there are those times when staying calm is tough…and it gets hard to fight the urge to - kick their little butts! And FYI: I plan to post many of my AUDIO files over the next few months, most from my 4 new AUDIO-CDs, along with many more text files from my several books of verse. (Only a few CDs and books left - 2-10-21). Because, as with most poets, it simply depends on the mood I’m in at writing time, my pieces vary greatly, from lightheartedly comical to meaningfully poignant, and even a few slightly irreverent works.
