If Your Prayer Is Poetry
Child, pay close attention to what I am going to say to make you aware of a heavenly sight, " The bell that you hear tinkles with a joyful melody... as if it were sung by invisible angels. " Years have passed like your springs of joyless days, nights are even colder and much longer than they should; and if your prayer is poetry, it's because the sincere words come from the mouth of God to draw you closer to your mother! Her hand still holds yours until you'll be together and take a walk among stars, floating with the whitest clouds... see your reflection in those eyes radiating with cheer! Can a mother forget her child missing her touch more than a goodnight tender kiss on his cheek? Who is willing to hush him to sleep... if not the gentle and tepid wind bringing in the aroma of roses she adored? If your prayer is poetry, it's because of the tenderness you feel and express for her, but it's not enough to end your sadness; children shouldn't feel any pain, their lives are too precious and beautiful to be lost in the images they see in their moments of unwanted solitude and rejected frustration. No memory fervently loved can be easily erased as a worthless day; it has more awareness through its rendition! Mothers can speak, whisper or shout their words, but they are always heard entering the depths of their child's attentive heart; and before you can understand them and take their meaning to heart: you must grow up believing that they are your guide on uncertain days seeming too overwhelming and intricate to outlive a gloomy night! This is a reminder when your youth turns into adulthood: think and act in ways men do, don't regret what could have been, strive, try harder, knock down walls and you'll definitely thrive; what she taught you is as invaluable as the wisdom engrained in you to make all roads smooth and safe to travel upon... when many are reckless and end up losing their life! Has fate desolated you from the wonderful world seen with wondrous eyes, but not with keenness and lucidity? Have all friends deserted you, not appreciated your values held so dearly in your conviction and irrepressible ardor? Move on and show them all how life has crowned you with glory, has any of them reached a height that merits acknowledgment and honor? If your prayer is poetry, it's because you have loved the dearest mother of all, that one who looked after you even in death... that one who smiled and gave you the incentive and the intense desire to make her live through you, not letting you chase after wealth, or untrue loves that stripped you of fidelity, of all that you sought fending off adversity! If your prayer is poetry, it's because you are convinced that words without affection mean less than an unexpressed thought... if declared with a mind that is at fault!
