Sassy and Wild Tom
Sassy had spent many a night hearing the howling from the alley. It was Wild Tom and his band of crooners, they did not dilly dally. She had batted her eyes, been through a marriage or two. But her love was always secretly for Wild Tom, and his motley crew. His band knew, so they serenaded her and her kittens at the window. An apartment cat, Sassy's world did not collide with those below. She spent many a pleasant day listening to the crooners of the street. Never expecting that she and the crew or Wild Tom would ever meet. By happenstance, Wild Tom ran out in front of a car one spring day. The driver was her owner, Sue, who took him to a vet right away. Vet patched him up, but he was not ready to roam back in the street. So Sue brought Wild Tom home, a move that could not be beat. Wild Tom did not recognize the pretty nurse who brought his cup. He had seen Sassy many times in many years, but never this close up. After he recovered, they had fallen in love, inside the window pane. Sue kept him, so the love couple could together always watch the rain.
