Christmas 2020
It is Christmas 2020 and no one is here. A regular day, no happiness or extra cheer A reminder my mother has been gone for a year. No reindeer or snowmen, not one single reindeer. Christmas 2020 and I do not have to wear a mask. I am going nowhere fast, not that anyone will ask. I am alone in my house, and cannot find my favorite flask. Lonely, depressing. Eating anything is a ridiculous task. Someone calls up to speak to me on Christmas 2020 day. I glare at traitorous phone in a mean sort of way. Do not like FaceTime at all; my hair has turned an ugly gray. Besides what in the world do this relative and I have to say? Christmas 2020 with a pandemic, and tens of thousand dead. Could dye my hair, but my husband bought the wrong color of red. Irritated beyond belief that this day is a bust in my head. Decide to take a nap, and crawl back into my fuzzy warm bed.
