The 14th Day of the Second Month
My marriage took place on this day a few thousand pages ago nestled somewhere in between a wistful dream and some silly reality show We started out like frick and frack the joker and his queen There were no better suited For the things we’d plan and scheme Friday night was the night to savor a fine bottle of wine Sharing stories of our childhood short quips line by line We’d turn on music and dance to reminiscent tunes and laugh as we swayed about our dimly lit up room We’d often stop our silliness and talk about our plans For building a life we’d both delight as we grew older hand in hand I can’t remember the day our Fridays seemed to stop It must have been the time our lives began to flop All the dreams and silly schemes We’re suddenly too much to fit into our busy lives Our hands no longer touched I often wonder how it is two as perfect as us Would let ourselves forget to remember why we loved so much
