My Brother
You were MY brother, to love or hate as I saw fit, and you and I would argue the about the world and politics, but you would always win. Not because you were right or I was wrong, because you were better at writing an angry song, and I always knew it meant more to you than I to win that fight and between you and I...you were probably right. You would not back down and I would usually concede, that was our dance and I would never read into your anger and disdain at the world as anything more than how it would read. You were mine to know and understand, and you would try your best to keep the upper hand, because you knew I would challenge you at every stand. That's what it was to have a big brother, and both share the void of what should have been a Mother, who battled her self and us and ducked for cover every time she should have been a Mother. But that happened and we turned out alright, she did her best and she fought her fights, with the world, herself and life and now you both can finally stop that fight.
