He Understood My Confusion
HE UNDERSTOOD MY CONFUSION I was walking in darkness, like a lamb was astray; I had listened to voices saying, “This is the way.” When I tried them to follow, more confused I became, Then I heard of an answer--Jesus Christ was His name. He understood my confusion, every doubt, every fear, And He knew all the heartaches, all the sorrow and tears. Not just small bits and pieces, but each worry and care; He understood my confusion when He met me right there. When I think I know better, or I go my own way; When I fail to seek Him, when I fail to pray, Soon I’m lost in confusion, and I reap what I sow, Then there’s no other answer but to Him then to go. He understands my confusion, every doubt, every fear, And He knows all the heartaches, all the sorrow and tears. Not just small bits and pieces, but each worry and care; He understands may confusion when He meets me right there. I still stumble and struggle, for I’m such a weak man; I get often discouraged when I try so to stand. And each time I determine I will stumble no more, Soon or later I’m falling and I cry to the Lord. He understands my confusion, every doubt, every fear, And He knows all the heartaches, all the sorrow and tears. Not just small bits and pieces, but each worry and care; He understands may confusion when He meets me right there. There is coming a morning there in heaven’s bright land I will know all the answers; yes, and I’ll understand: While the pathway I traveled seemed confusing to me, He was there every footstep, every day faithfully. He understood my confusion, every doubt, every fear, And He knew all the heartaches, all the sorrow and tears. Not just small bits and pieces, but each worry and care; He understood my confusion when He met me right there. These words can be written to music.
